WHAT ARE WE ASKING FOR?

Sitara is actively seeking funding from trusts, foundations, funding bodies, individuals and companies for our not-for-profit programmes:

The Art Matters Programme
 
CHILDREN FROM UNDERPRIVILEGED BACKGROUNDS, who would not normally have the opportunity to go to the theatre, will be invited to attend and take part in a Sitara production.  Their magical day out will include transport, a free Sitara souvenir, photos and refreshments.

The Pass it On Programme
 
50 Heads of Year and Heads of Departments from government and experimental schools will be invited for a week of free TEACHER TRAINING at Sitara at the end of August or the beginning of September.  The training course will give them the materials and skills to train their own staff using a learner-centred hands-on approach to learning.  In this way the training is passed on to a wider range of teachers.

For Companies

• An association with a top quality theatre and arts programme for the children of Cairo, offering an amazing cultural experience at affordable prices! 

• An opportunity to reach an elite sector of the Cairo population - the majority of our audiences are from international and top language schools.

• Publicity – children in costumes are extremely media-friendly.  As Cairo’s only English-speaking theatre for children we will appeal to English speaking TV, radio, magazines and newspapers as well as the ex-pat newsletters and magazines

For private donors

Be a part of bringing the Sitara magic to the underprivileged children of Cairo or offer a government school near you a free week of teacher training.  Your name, photo and status as a donor will be displayed in our reception area (unless you prefer your donation to be anonymous).

• 1 child’s ticket, transport, photo and souvenir as part of our Art Matters Programme – ONLY 50LE

• A class of 30 children get tickets, transport, photos and Sitara souvenirs as part of our Art Matters Programme – 1500LE

• 100 children get tickets, transport, photos and Sitara souvenirs as part of our Art Matters Programme – 4,500LE

• A week’s teacher training for 50 teachers from a government or experimental school with 3 qualified English speaking teacher trainers plus 3 bi-lingual support staff, all teaching resources and materials plus a training kit for the school to train any remaining staff as part of our Pass it On Programme  – 10,000LE
