SATURDAY CLUB

Every Saturday during school term

11am-12.30pm for 5-11 year olds

 45LE per workshop

Are you living with a drama queen?  Does your child have a flair for theatrics?  Then bring them along to our drama workshops and join the Sitara Saturday Club.

We understand parents and children have busy schedules so drama workshops are devised as part of a series but also work individually.

Please ring in advance to check the club is running and a place is available – 010 783 2207

Workshops will be led by Emma Davies and/or Sophie Mohsen (see biographies below)

Sophie Mohsen – DRAMA TEACHER AT MAADI BRITISH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Having completed her sixth form education at the prestigious William Morris Academy, Sophie then completed a Performing Arts BA at Roehampton University in London, focusing on physical theatre and use of the voice.  Sophie moved to Cairo with her family in 2007 and after  leading drama workshops at international and national schools, using the Helen O’Grady curriculum, she came to work with Sitara.  She believes that her job as workshops leader is to give each child an opportunity to fulfil their dramatic potential.

Emma Davies – DIRECTOR OF SITARA

Those of you who have seen a Sitara show will know Emma’s work as Billy/Wanda, Mona/Uncle, Fifi/Deloris, Sheila/Giant/Daphne – Emma’s usually the one showing off mid-stage.  Emma completed her MA in Theatre at Leeds University and spent ten years in the UK working as an actor and workshop leader focusing almost exclusively on Theatre in Education and Young People’s Theatre.  She came to Cairo as a singer for Hilton Taba and Nuweiba on a 3 month contract.  She met her husband on her first day singing and has been here ever since!!!  She has worked for 10 years as an English and Drama teacher here in Cairo, including a stint at Cairo British School as the Deputy Principal.
